We offer both academic courses and professional training courses on part-time and on flexible, and distance learning bases. We also deliver an evening course called ‘Understanding Development’ for those who wish to update on current development issues.
The Flexible and Distance Learning and Part-Time Study options allow you to balance your studies with other commitments such as work and family. Some employers may contribute to your tuition fee, and it allows you to take more time to read, study and reflect on your learning.
Through our Kimmage Open & Distance Education (KODE) programme we offer a range of professional practical courses through a ‘blended learning’ package. KODE courses are delivered through specialised tutor support and advice, a dedicated website to facilitate student communication and, essentially, access to full course material/content on CD or online. This learning method facilitates participants to work through the concepts, principles and practice of each course topic at their own pace, in their own time to gain key skills in each of the subject areas.
The evening course in Understanding Development is intended for anyone involved or concerned with development issues for reasons of work, active support or personal interest. Neither previous experience nor training in development work are required.
