Mpala has over seventeen years of experience in the field of consultancy, institutional development and performance management as well as in project management and administration.
Consultancies undertaken include project/programme development, training and development of manuals and toolkits (Gender mainstreaming, HIV and AIDS mainstreaming as well as Policy engagement toolkits); training needs assessments and training facilitation/moderation of workshops, national/ regional/ international conferences and meetings, programme/project planning and reviews/evaluations meetings; baseline surveys, programme/project evaluations; impact assessments; and researches.
Mpala also has eight years experience working within the United Nations System, particularly for the International Labour Organisation with whom she managed three projects (Child Labour, HIV and AIDS and Business Development Services) all involving various stakeholders.
She is particularly adept at using participatory techniques in both research, facilitation of meetings and training. She has excellent writing, communication and interpersonal skills and is computer literate.
Professional education includes a first degree in development studies and economics and a second MPhil in International relations from Cambridge University in the UK.
