Grace Kelly

Grace KellyGrace is a psychologist with over 20 years experience of service delivery and project management within the voluntary and private child protection sector. Key areas of strength and experience include the development of organisational policies and procedures, a vast knowledge of child protection and childrens rights issues, advocacy and campaigning on childrens rights and child protection.

Grace established a child protection and welfare consultancy service in September 2008. Recent relevant experience includes:

  • Developing a child protection and safeguarding policy for Misean Cara and subsequent training on the implementation of this policy for members
  • Reviewing the implementation and development of child protection and safeguarding policies for the FMDM sisters in Zambia ( November 2010). (This congregation receives funds from Irish Aid through Misean Cara)
  • Assessing child protection policies for missionary congregations for funding rounds
  • Developing policies and procedures for a number of organisations working within the community and voluntary sector (on-going)
  • Facilitation of training/support sesssions to staff/volunteers on child protection and welfare.

Grace joined the ISPCC in 1989 and held many positions within the organisation including Director of Services for the Society. Grace has been a representative at the U.N. Committee’s review of the Irish Governments implementation of the U.N.C.R.C in Geneva, has sat on the Governments National Co-coordinating Childcare Committee and the Department of Justice, Equality and Law Reform’s Committee on diversity and equality in Childcare. She was a member of the “Stop It Now” Committee and the Board of the Children’s Rights Alliance.
