Alais Ole-Morindat

Alais Ole-Morindat (MSc. [Agric] Rural Development,H.Dip Adult and Community Education, H.Dip Dev Studies), based in Tanzania, has over twenty five years experience working within the development sector. He has served on the board and committees of various organisations  most notably, the Foundation for Civil Society in Tanzania, the Tanzania Natural Resource Forum, Tanzania Pastoralist and Hunter Gatherers organisation, the CARE International Pastoralist Basket Fund and as an independent member of the DAC Network on Poverty Reduction.

His areas of expertise lie in pastoralist systems, sustainable environmental management and poverty reduction strategies. He has extensive experience working with pastoralist groups in Eastern Africa and served as a policy consultant to the Tanzania/Denmark bilateral ERETO Pastoralist Project in Ngorongoro, Tanzania. He has been a senior lecturer at the MS Training Centre for Development Cooperation in Arusha for over 12 years. He was also employed as a Governance Advisor by the Irish Embassy in Dar Es Selam where he coordinated Irish Aid rural development programmes.   Presently, he is involved in a joint collaboration between Irish Aid, CORDAID, IIED and KDSC in a sustainable dryland environmental management and poverty reduction programme in East Africa.
