Caoimhe Butterly Wins Grand Prize at ICCL Human Rights Film Awards

We are delighted to congratulate current MA student Caoimhe Butterly, who was awarded the Grand Prize at the eighth annual Irish Council for Civil Liberties (ICCL) Human Rights Film Awards, held in Dublin on June 30th 2016.

Caoimhe directed and produced the documentary film The Border (link to film on Vimeo) which shows “A glimpse of the quietly devastating impacts of border closures, and reflections of some of the women and men stranded in Idomeni, Greece, as they seek refuge in Europe.” This is not her first film. She has also made another documentaries on refugees, The Port, and The Sea Between Us.

Caoimhe is currently researching her MA dissertation and hopes to complete it later this year.
