Dearbhla Glynn is the Guest of Honour at our 2015/16 end-of-year ceremony on May 26th, and will be giving an address. Dearbhla completed an MA in Development Studies with us in 2011, and is an award-winning photo-journalist and documentary film-maker, specializing in making awareness-raising films around the issues of social justice, human rights, child protection and gender issues in regions of conflict. Her film ‘Gaza: Post Operation Cast Lead’ won the grand prize at the ICCL Human Rights Film award in 2010.

In June 2013 Dearbhla won the grand prize at the ICCL Awards for the
second time for her short film ‘The Value of Women in DRC‘, an in-depth
feature film on the issue of
gender violence and rape used as a weapon of
. This film was also nominated for a One World media award.
