Patrick Marren (BA, MscAgricEcon) is a lecturer at Kimmage DSC. He has worked here for over twenty years.
Patrick is also the BA coordinator of the programmes at Kimmage DSC and at MS-TCDC in Arusha, Tanzania. He teaches modules in Political Economy of Development, Sustainable Livelihoods, Microfinance and Research Methods. He facilitates students in undertaking primary research in development related fields and is an occasional lecturer in Sustainable Livelihoods and Poverty Reduction Strategies and Microfinance and Development.
He has worked through Kimmage DSC in East Africa – Ethiopia, Kenya Tanzania, and West Africa – Sierre Leone and the Gambia. His areas of interest lie in, aid effectiveness, complex systems and resource limits and the impact of the rise of China and development alternatives.
