Philip Hughes is Commercial, Technology and Training Director at the Irish Aviation Authority. After graduating with a BComm from UCD he trained and qualified as a chartered accountant with KPMG, working in the fire and food sectors before joining the Irish Aviation Authority. Philip has been with the IAA for 20 years and is currently responsible for the management of commercial contracts and strategic alliances, ATM Systems, training conducted by the IAA and the IAA Business IT systems.
Philip played a key role in the establishment of Entry Point North Ireland (EPNI) training college in 2013 and in the IAA’s strategic investment in Aireon, a space based air traffic Surveillance Company. He has also the former head of the audit committee for the North Eastern Health Board.
